Our Hospice Home

Thanks to our generous community, Hospice of Lenawee operates the only in-patient hospice home in Lenawee County and allows our patients and their families to continue making moments that turn into special memories.

What Is The Hospice Home?

Overview

Our Hospice Home is the right choice for a hospice patient when short-term care is required to manage acute pain or other symptoms caused by their terminal illness.  It was created to provide our patients and their families compassionate end-of-life care in a beautiful environment that feels like home.  With large rooms, private outdoor patios, and spanning views of our local woods and wildflowers, it is peaceful, relaxing, and comfortable.

Family and friends may visit Hospice patients at any time; there are no restrictions on visiting hours.  Family pets are also welcome.  Enjoy the natural light filtering through large windows, soft easy chairs, and large screen Smart TVs. The entire family will feel welcomed, as this is their home too.

When is the Hospice Home appropriate?

Our Hospice Home is the right choice for a Hospice of Lenawee patient when short-term care is required.  We provide a peaceful home-like environment for you and your family when:

  • Pain or other symptoms are difficult to manage where you are currently living
  • There is a need for medication changes that require frequent monitoring
  • You require short-term stabilization and education about home care needs after hospitalization
  • Your caregiver needs to attend to their own personal needs or travels out of town and you need a place to stay (stay is limited)
  • You are nearing death and do not want to die at home

Patients typically stay at our Hospice Home for less than two weeks. If a transfer to another care center becomes necessary, our staff will work with you and your family to ensure a smooth and safe transition. Rest assured, our home care team will ensure continuity of care and support for you and your caregivers.
