Grief Support Services
Although death is a natural part of life, losing a loved one can be very challenging. Hospice of Lenawee’s Bereavement Department offers support to those families who we have served as well as anyone in the community who has suffered a loss. We are here if you need someone to talk to, or if you want someone that will listen. Due to generous community support, there are no fees associated with our bereavement services. Our services are outlined below.
Hospice of Lenawee’s Trust Your Wings Bereavement Retreat, in partnership with the Adrian Center for the Arts, provided individuals and families with a creative and supportive space to explore their grief through art. Creative expression can offer an important outlet for emotions that may be difficult to put into words, while encouraging reflection, connection, and hope. Guided by the theme “Trust Your Wings,” participants used art to honor and remember their loved ones, express their individual grief journeys, and discover strength within themselves. Through creating and connecting with others who understand loss, participants were reminded that healing takes time—and that they can trust their own wings as they move forward with hope, resilience, and continued connection to those they love.
