Gifts of time money and talent enable Hospice of Lenawee to continue to provide expert services and our special kind of caring to our patients, families, and the greater Lenawee community. Gifts in the form of memorials, planned estate giving, and honoraria are used to support care of patients and programs not covered by insurance. Your gift may be designated to a specific project or area of hospice service.

Ways to Give

Cash Donation: A cash donation is the simplest way to give and allows us to offer our services to the entire community, regardless of ability to pay.

Memorial Gift: You can honor the memory of a friend or loved one with a gift to Hospice of Lenawee. Your gift will be is acknowledged with a letter of gratitude from Hospice of Lenawee, sent to whomever you would like.

Gifts In Honor: Commemorate a special occasion, say thank you, or otherwise acknowledge a special person with an “In Honor of” Gift. The honoree will be notified of your gift with a special letter from Hospice of Lenawee.

Appreciated Stock: Even with the down turn in the stock market, many people have stock that they purchased many years ago that is valued much higher than when they purchased it. By giving these shares of stock directly to a charity, a donor receives an income tax deduction for the current fair market value of the stock and does not pay any capital gains tax on the transfer.

IRA Charitable Rollover: People 70 ½ years or older who have an Individual Retirement Account have an opportunity in 2008 and 2009 to make a tax free donation to a charity from their IRA. Gifts must be made directly from the trustee of the IRA to the charity and there it a $100,000 maximum per year on the withdrawal. Such a withdrawal also serves to satisfy any minimum withdrawal requirements.

Planned Giving: You can give a gift of stock, securities, or real estate. Or you can set up a charitable remainder trust (CRT), gift annuity, or estate plan to benefit Hospice of Lenawee and save you tax dollars!
